Candi Lynn (Herrboldt) Sayler was born on Saturday, April 16, 1966 in Yankton, South Dakota to Terry and Shirley (Novak) Herrboldt. Candi, the oldest of three children, was raised in Olivet and graduated from Menno High School in 1984 as an All-State basketball player. She was better known to her father as “Hannah” on the basketball court. After high school, Candi attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls where she obtained a degree in Medical Technology. She married Michael Sayler on September 28, 1985 in Menno. She worked at the Freeman Medical Clinic for several years. Candi’s most enjoyable moments were spent watching her sons participate in sports; she never missed one of their games. Candi was very proud of her two sons, Nick and Seth. Nick is currently stationed in Kuwait with the National Guard and Seth is attending South Dakota State University. Candi died on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at her residence in Scotland at the age of 43 years, 11 months and 1 day.
