Jimmy D. Goglin was born in Pierre, South Dakota and is a 1977 graduate of Pierre Riggs High School. He completed his pre-Mortuary studies at Black Hills State College in Spearfish, South Dakota and graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, Texas in 1985. Based on his scholastic standing during his time at the institute, Jim was admitted to Psi Sigma Eta, an honorary funeral service fraternity represented at the college by the Epsilon Chapter.
Jim holds a Funeral Director license from the state of South Dakota. He is a member of the South Dakota Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Jim is Coroner for Bon Homme County and Deputy Coroner for Hutchinson County. He is a designated Certified Funeral Service Practitioner. Jim is also a licensed insurance agent in South Dakota, and represents Homesteader’s Life and the quality line of funeral funding products that they offer.
Prior to and during his education, he was employed by Isburg Funeral Home in Pierre, South Dakota and Fidler Funeral Chapels of Spearfish and Lead, South Dakota, and Sundance, Wyoming.
Jim has been appointed to the South Dakota State Board of Funeral Service by Governor Mike Rounds, effective July 1, 2008. He will represent District 2 on the board and will also be one of two board members to perform yearly inspections for South Dakota funeral homes.
Jennifer Goglin joined the staff of the funeral home in July of 2000, when she and Jim were married. Prior to moving to Tyndall, Jennie was an Aberdeen native and a graduate of Northern State University. She earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science in 1991 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1992. After earning her degree, she entered the computer technology field and held several computer-related and management positions in Aberdeen.
After moving to Tyndall in 2000, she worked part-time for Central Plains Insurance.Over the years, her involvement with the funeral homes increased and Jennie began studying toward a degree in Mortuary Science at Arapahoe Community College in Denver, Colorado. After completing her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Mortuary Science, she sat for her national board exam and was licensed by the state of South Dakota in September of 2006. Jennie is also Deputy Coroner for Bon Homme County.

Jimmy and Jennie have a blended family of three children and three grandchildren. Eldon Goglin served with the 82nd Airborne in both Afghanistan and Iraq and is currently a Business Administration Major at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota. He lives in Huron with his three children, Caleb, Hayden and Kadence Goglin.
Dominic Marks is a 2004 graduate of Bon Homme High School and is a Percussion Performance Major at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Lauren Marks is a 2008 Bon Homme High School graduate and will pursue a nursing degree at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota beginning in the fall of 2008.
A fourth child, daughter Tearakay (Goglin) Soukup, died on November 19, 2000 in Huron, South Dakota at the age of 20 years.
