I send my sympathy to all of Dorothy's family. I did not know her well, but my husband Terry was very grateful to have Dorothy as a substitute teacher from 1981-1989, when he was the elementary principal here. He was always so happy when he called her on a cold, winter morning (or anytime), and she said yes. He knew then that he had a good teacher going into the classroom for the children. She was at the top of his list, and I know they had a good relationship those many years ago. I showed her obituary to my son, Troy, and he smiled as he said he remembered her as a favorite substitute.

Dennis and family/ So very, very sorry to hear about Dorothy. Such a lovely, caring person, and such an asset to the Lutheran music program. Always enjoyed stopping in and joining the choir when home, whether I was invited or not. She will be sorely missed. God bless.

What a lovely tribute you wrote. Dorothy truly was a wonderful person; beautiful inside and out. She was a dear friend, and I will always have such fond memories of her. She had this laugh that seemed to sing. Hearing that laugh always made everyone feel so much better. My best to you all.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Dorothy's passing. Our families were friends and neighbors for many years. I remember Dorothy as a very nice person in High School and yes she was very attuned to music and choir activities. My siblings and I were so happy a few years ago when she and Dennis bought Mom's home in Scotland and they completely remodeled it.
My deepest condolences to Dennis, Rita and Dennis and the rest of your families.

To the family of Dorothy-Psalm 136 tells us to give thanks to the Lord for He is good and His love endures forever; and He surely was good in giving Dorothy to "us." She will be missed in many ways and by many people.6376

Dorothy was such a giving person.I remember her most for her genuine laugh and positive disposition. I loved her most for how much she did for our mother when we couldn't since we lived so far away. She is now singing with the angels. Prayers for Dennis, Michael, Amy and the family.

Dorothy was a wonderful person and will be missed. We shared having to deal with cancer and when I learned she had to have chemo I sent her hats for when she lost her hair. I remember her calling me and her laughter. She had a great laugh. Prayers and thoughts are with you.
