Deborah Lynn Schock was born on June 1, 1958 to Walter and Judy (Webb) Harley at Hot Springs, South Dakota. For a time, she lived with her grandparents in Billings, Montana. During her high school years, she was active in volleyball and track and field. Following her graduation from Billings High School, she went on to attend UCLA college. Deborah earned her Certified Nursing Aide license and worked as a CNA. She later worked for Sapa/Hydro for over 8 years.
Deborah had a deep love and passion for animals. She devoted endless hours and hardwork training horses. She attended and participated in numerous rodeos and horse shows. Her pride and joy was her Friesian horse named Draven. She also adored dogs. Throughout her life, she made many beloved pets, including a red heeler named Bud and Chihuahuas named Pinky, Tiny, and Zoey.
Deborah loved her family and especially doted on her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy in life. She warmly cared for them, spoiled them with gifts, and encouraged them to reach for the stars. She ensured her grandchildren learned to ride horses and to share the same love and passion for it. Deborah was an amazing helper to her children, frequently lending a hand and watching her grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her frequent hugs and saying “I love you to the moon and back, forever and ever.”
Deborah held a Christian faith and believed in the constant presence and love of her Heavenly Father in his care for her and her family. She passed away on August 31, 2019 at her home in Yankton having attained the age of 61 years.
