Goglin Funeral Home and Legacy Crematory is a full-service funeral establishment, able to meet your every need and request. We encourage our families to voice their preferences and expectations, and promise to listen and follow through on those expectations to the fullest extent possible.
Our services include, but are not limited to:
A Traditional Funeral Service
A traditional service usually includes viewing of the body during a scheduled visitation time, followed by a formal ceremony at a church, in our chapel, or at another facility of your choice, then followed by a committal ceremony with interment or entombment.
A Graveside Service
A graveside service may or may not include viewing of the body, either publicly or privately. Formal services are then held at the cemetery.
A Memorial Service
A memorial service may or may not include viewing of the body, either publicly or privately. The body may be cremated, buried or entombed prior to or after the formal ceremony. The main distinction between a funeral service and a memorial service is that the body is present at a funeral service and is not present at a memorial service. It does not necessarily dictate the final disposition of the body.
Direct burial is the disposition of the body by burial or entombment. There is no viewing of the body and there are no formal ceremonies.
A Traditional Cremation Service
A traditional cremation service is similar to a traditional funeral service, except that the body is cremated following the formal ceremony. Rental caskets are available for public visitation. There are a variety of ways in which to handle the final disposition of the ashes of your loved one, including earth burial, niche entombment, scattering, or keeping the ashes privately.
Direct cremation is the disposition of the body by cremation. There is no viewing of the body and there are no formal ceremonies.
Death Away From Home
We are also able to help your family arrange domestic and international transportation of your loved one. The most important thing to remember is to call us first should death occur away from home. We are experienced in coordinating services with other funeral homes and service providers and will be able to minimize the costs involved in dealing with different locations and distances.
The above services will cover the needs of most families. Special services are also available to meet individual circumstances and situations. You are always welcome to request a General Price List by phone, mail, email or in person.
Whatever type of service is right for your family, know that a variety of avenues exist to personalize the funeral services. These may include, but are certainly not limited to, memorial candles, video slide shows celebrating your loved one and your family, and personal items displayed during visitation. A well-used golf bag, a handmade quilt, or an antique toy tractor can work miracles in sharing the essence of your loved ones to your family members and guests.
We specialize in two things: Anything and Everything. No request is too large; no detail is too small. We don’t promise individual service in a newspaper ad – we deliver it in the most personal way possible.
In the past decade, cremation as a means of final disposition has steadily and quickly increased in demand. In 2008, to better serve this growing demographic Jim built his own crematory in Tyndall and named it Legacy Crematory. At the time of its inception, Legacy Crematory was unique in the local area due to its new oversized retort, meaning it could handle cremations of deceased persons weighing up to 800lbs. Before the creation of Legacy Crematory, local crematories up to 100 miles away had basic essential retorts, meaning they could only handle cases up to 300lbs. Due to Legacy Crematory’s special capabilities, the Goglin Funeral Home and other local funeral homes were able to help families more efficiently.
