In 2009, Jim started his own cemetery monument company, Legacy Monuments. Every step of the monument purchasing process is personally handled by either Jim or Ethan Schroeder our monument manager, from general thought to drawn draft to production to shipping and lastly to installation. By effectively cutting out a middle-man, Jim discovered he could offer more than competitive prices for residents in Bon Homme County, Hutchinson County, Yankton County, northeast Nebraska, and more. To further develop his knowledge and technical skills, in 2015 Jim attended sandblasting instructional training in Georgia. In 2017 after a positive market response and heavy work load Jim promoted Ethan Schroeder to assist in running Legacy Monuments. In the summer of 2016, Jim improved the capabilities of Legacy Monuments by purchasing a lazer etching machine. For more information about monuments, please call or text (605) 464-1795 for Jim or (605) 464-4867 for Ethan, or email us at
