Agnes Mary Schweitzer was born on August 25, 1926 to William and Elizabeth (Goettertz) Schweitzer. She attended rural school. On November 27, 1946, Agnes was united in marriage to Raymond Francis Dangel at St. Boniface Catholic Church in rural Freeman. They made their home in Texas, Nebraska, and rural Olivet, SD where Agnes enjoyed working on her many talents such as re-upholstering and re-finishing furniture, sewing, and baking homemade cakes, pies, and cookies. Her favorite past times were her love of dancing and going to the casino with Ray. Most of all, she loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, she would say she wasn't a great great grandma but she wanted to be known as "the greater grandma".
Agnes passed away on May 26, 2019 at Oakview Terrace Nursing Home in Freeman, SD having attained the age of 92.
She is survived by her daughters Norma (Joe) Bower of Sioux Falls, SD and Sara Herrboldt of Sioux Falls, SD, nine grandchildren: Carlotta (Jon Schempp) Carr, Dominick (Lyn) York, Anthony York, Carlos (Summer) York, John Bower, Brigette Dangel, Samantha (Kelly Young) Herrboldt, Fabre (Pat) Sullivan, and Jacob Herrboldt, seventeen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and nephew LaVern (Arla) Dangel. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 7 siblings.
