Annabelle Effie Spurling

Annabelle Spurling passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Tyndall, SD at the age of 93.
Annabelle was born September 16, 1926 near Tyndall, SD to John and Ruth (Stanley) Hammond. Her family moved to Elk Point, SD where she graduated from Elk Point High School in 1944. After high school she completed business school in Sioux City, Iowa.
In 19447 she moved to San Diego, California. She worked at Dormans Department Store in downtown San Diego. She married William Spurling March 13, 1948. Together they raised four children in San Diego County. After retirement they moved to Arizona and later to South Dakota.
Annabelle loved decorating cakes for her friends and family. She enjoyed growing flowers in her garden and baking with her grandchildren. She was a member of Circle II, Jolly Neighbors and PEO in Tyndall.
She lived a faith filled life devoted to Jesus and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tyndall, SD.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Spurling; son William D. Spurling; sister Mary Jorgensen and nephew Greg Boulware.
She is loved by her children John Spurling, Linda Keen, Robert (Toni) Spurling; grandchildren Tim (Shauna) Vuoti; Robyn (Todd) Igleman; Matt (Natalia) MacLauchlin; John (Katy) MacLauchlin; Thatcher Spurling; Shayna Spurling and 9 great grandchildren.

Annabelle will be interred beside her husband in California.
