Cathleen "Cathy" Kay Bochman

October 2, 1956 — May 27, 2018

Cathleen ‘Cathy’ Kay Bochman was born on February 10, 1956 to Virginia and Henry ‘Hank’ Oorlog.  She was the youngest of 3 children.  She is survived by her siblings Chuck and Connie.  Cathy was a spirited child. One of Cathy’s favorite stories to tell was when she decided to ‘run away’ from home but had to stop at the end of the driveway, because she wasn’t allowed to go any further.  Another was of the time her big brother Chuck placed her in a 5 gallon bucket and sent her down the creek. Even though he attempted to get rid of her, she just continued loving him.  Cathy looked up to her sister Connie and they shared a special bond.  They enjoyed singing together.  Connie, Tootsie and Cathy would sing their hearts out.  She loved her Shetland pony, who could be a little ornery at times.  She especially loved the memory of when he tried to roll her off and she had to hop off and then back on during his attempt.  She showed that horse who was boss!
She went to Country School through eighth grade and attended Tripp High School, later receiving her GED.  Married at the age of seventeen, she began her family and had 5 children: Jeff Kotalik (Adrianne), Justin Kotalik (Kelly), Jason Kotalik (Valerie), Elizabeth Simek (Chad) and Amanda ‘Mandy’ Horner (Josh).  Cathy worked hard at CR Industries and Shur-Co while raising her children on her own.  In 2001 she married the love of her life, Glen Bochman.  Glen not only became husband, but a devoted and loving father/ grandfather to all of her children and grandchildren.  He meant the world to Cathy.  They lived life to the fullest and laughed constantly.  He would give her a hard time for purchasing her treasures, but always allowed her to get them.  She loved to shop and he would just pay; they were always bargains of course.  Together they had their last child:   Catrina Kimerer (Willie).  Cathy always shared a special bond with Catrina, who was able to overcome childhood illness due to the love and care her parents gave her.
Cathy’s greatest pride in life after her children were grown was her grandchildren:  Alexander Kotalik, William and Russell Kotalik, Anthony and Ryett Kotalik, Tristan, Madex, Paxtyn and Prestyn Simek and Damien Kimerer.   She loved spending her free time at parks, ponds, pools, and especially the river which was one of her favorite places.  She spoiled the boys with Cheetos, pop, candy and toys whenever possible.  They knew Grandma had the soft spot and ran to her for love and hugs whenever their parents were mad.
Anyone who was lucky enough to spend time with Cathy will appreciate these special characteristics.  She loved her Diet Mountain Dew and you would never catch her without it.  Many animals were blessed in becoming hers and loved unconditionally; there was always a home for a dog, cat or horse in need. She enjoyed her collections, especially her Angels, because of her faith in God. Cathy often utilized her green thumb growing beautiful flowers, even risking her life to get that one special flower.  There was beauty to be found in everything she viewed, encouraging her loved ones to have the same outlook on life.
We are thankful to God for giving us the time we have had to enjoy the endless unconditional love Cathy was always willing to share with her loved ones.  We love you Cathy.
