Darlene K. Bueber

July 8, 1935 — July 13, 2022

Darlene K. Bueber, age 87 of Tripp, passed away, Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Landmann-Jungman Memorial Hospital in Scotland.

Darlene Katherine (Vogt) Bueber was born west of Winner, SD to Henry and Lena (Littau) Vogt, July 8, 1935. She was baptized at Jerusalem Lutheran Church of rural Carter and later the family joined St. John’s Lutheran Church of Witten, where she was confirmed. Darlene attended grade school six miles away at Carter, SD.  When she was in first grade, a blizzard came up and her dad was unable to get her. She stayed with a family for three days, with her parents not knowing where she was, since no one had telephones in the area. Darlene attended Winner High School, staying with a couple of families for her room and board, graduating in 1954. After high school, she helped in any way on the farm and also at the Winner Outlaw.

Darlene married Raymond Bueber November 22, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Winner, SD. She moved from two miles south of Highway 18 in Tripp County to two miles south of Highway 18 near Tripp SD, to the Bueber family farm. She became a member of Denewitz Lutheran Church of rural Tripp until its closing then joined First American Lutheran Church of Tripp, where she taught Sunday School and was active in Ladies’ Aid.

She always grew a big garden, as well as raising a large flock of chickens for eggs and butchering. She always had fresh homemade bread, kuchen, rolls or pies for friends and family to enjoy.

Darlene and Ray were blessed with two sons, Alan and Glenn. Darlene’s door was always open to friends and family to stay or enjoy a meal. When she quit raising chickens, she enjoyed quilting and crocheting many doilies and pot holders to be given to friends and relatives.

Darlene is survived by her sons, Alan (Stacy) of Kearney, NE, and Glenn of Tripp, SD; step-grandson, Jeremy Foust (Stephanie) and their children, Kirsten and Gabe of Dalhart, Texas; her brothers, Donald (Joanie) of Winner, Dale (Bonnie) of Winner, Neil (Ann) of Winner, SD, Dean (JoAnn) of Witten, Tim (Ruth) of Winner and Richard (Judy) of Amarillo, Texas; her sister, JoAnne Shilling of Winner, along with many nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 2006; her parents, Henry and Lena Vogt; brother-in-law Larry Shilling; all of Ray’s brothers, sisters and in-laws.
