David H. Wudel

David H. Wudel was born on November 9, 1951 to Elmer and Viola (Permann) Wudel at Parkston, South Dakota. In 1980, he was united in marriage to Kathy Giedd and together were blessed with two children. David enlisted and served with the South Dakota National Guard for six years. For around 32 years, he worked with heavy equipment. For a time, he worked as a molder at CR Industries in Springfield, SD and later as a sander at MDS in Parkston, SD until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing at Ft. Randall, watching birds, mowing, and carpentry work.
David passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Ava's House by Sanford in Sioux Falls, South Dakota having attained the age of 66 years, 8 months, and 3 days.
He is survived and remembered by his wife of 38 years, Kathy Wudel of Tripp, SD; children: Becky Wudel of Baltic, SD and Josh (Summer Johnson) Wudel of Tripp, SD; grandson Koal Wudel of Tripp, SD; sister Florence Harp of Tripp, SD; brothers: Duane Wudel of Tripp, SD and Glen Wudel of Letcher, SD; a niece; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and nephew Steve Wudel.
Military funeral honors will be delivered by Jelkin-Harms American Legion Post #142. A time of fellowship with coffee and cookies will follow the services.
