Deena Christina Carda

Deena Christina Carda was born to Frank and Janis Carda (Hermanek) on July 31, 1963 in Tyndall, South Dakota. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the age of 60 surrounded by her family and friends from Ability Building Services.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Goglin Funeral Home in Yankton. Inurnment will follow at St Leo Catholic Cemetery in Tyndall.

Deena was always a big part of our lives as she was included in everything her siblings did from kick the can, to football, basketball and wiffle ball games. Mom and dad would take her everywhere with them.

Deena had a lot of passion for her favorite sports teams, the University of South Dakota Coyotes, Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings and watched them as often as she could.

She enjoyed all sports and one of her favorite things to do was going weekly to the golf range and hitting many golf balls.

Deena was the most accomplished athlete in our family as she won numerous medals at the state Special Olympics in (her specialty) softball throw and other events.

Deena also liked to go camping or on her annual, special, vacation to Sioux Falls with her nephew, Chance.

Deena was very compassionate as she loved talking to and taking care of her special pets Daisy the cat and Snowball her dog. She cared deeply for the staff of Ability Building Services and always spoke highly of them.

Deena is survived by her parents, Frank and Janis Carda, Tyndall, SD; her siblings, Connie Carda of Yankton, Jerry (Heidi) Carda of Beresford, SD and Michael “Mick” Carda of Yankton, SD and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Deena was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives and will miss her and love her forever.
