Delano Lee Preszler

DeLano Lee Preszler was born on January 6, 1939 in Eureka, SD to Jacob and Sarah (Berreth) Preszler.

On October 21, 1978 he married Marcia Rux of Aberdeen, SD.

For 5 years they farmed northwest of Aberdeen, SD. In 1984 they moved to Rapid City, SD where he was employed as a mechanic and later a foreman of heavy equipment at Ellsworth Air Force Base. In 2004 they moved to Scotland, SD where DeLano and Marcia settled in retirement.

In 1957, DeLano graduated from Central High School in Aberdeen, SD. He then served in the US Army, Special Forces (Green Beret) from 1960 to 1964.

DeLano was in the rodeo for several years riding bareback, saddle broncos and bull riding. He enjoyed snowmobile racing, Motorcycling, wood working and metal working. He was very skilled at welding and the plasma cutter.

DeLano and Marcia enjoyed making crafts together and selling them throughout South Dakota.

DeLano and Marcia were married for 48 years and have one son, William Preszler of Yankton, SD. Surviving niece Brenda (David) Solberg of Watertown, SD. Nephew Roger (Jeannine) Preszler of Lincoln, NE. Ron (Bonnie) Schnabel, and Mark(Teresa) Schnabel both from Lodi, CA.

Proceeded in death by father and mother, Jacob and Sarah, brother Roy and sister Irene Schnabel.

DeLano Lee Preszler died May 17, 2026 in Scotland, SD.
