Dorothy Christina Dietsch

Dorothy Christina Dietsch, passed away peacefully at her home in Kaylor on October 10, 2022, at the age of 91.

Dorothy Christina (Fuerst) Dietsch was born on February 15, 1931 to Theophil and Magdalena (Baltzer) Fuerst at the family farm near Kaylor, South Dakota. She went to country school through the 8th grade and graduated from high school in Parkston, South Dakota.

Dorothy married Dale T. Dietsch on April 29, 1953 at the Congregational Church in Kaylor. Six children were born to this union. She worked at various local businesses until her retirement.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 69 years, Dale of Kaylor; her children and their families, Larry (Lorri) Dietsch of Springfield, South Dakota, Julie (Bert) Bertoncino of Roach, Missouri, Donna (Mike) Spurlin of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Byron Dietsch of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Betha (Scott) Nelson of Hartford, South Dakota and Paula (Bruce) Vanderheiden of Mitchell, South Dakota. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Violet Fuerst, of Scotland, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Ann Dietsch of Aneheim, California and sister-in-law, Louise (Charles) Herrington of Wichita, Kansas and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Verlyn; brother-in-law, Raymond Dietsch; nephew, John Fuerst and son-in-law, Lewis (Bert) Bertoncino.
