Edna (Semmler) Stoebner was born Thursday, May 19, 1921 in Douglas County, east of Corsica, to Fred W. and Christina (Schmierer) Semmler.
She married Ruben E. Stoebner on September 16, 1941. They farmed west of Tripp for 45 years before moving to Tripp. She resided in Tripp for 19 years before moving to the Armour nursing home on April 17, 2006. She was a member of the Frieden’s Reformed Church of Tripp.
Happy to have shared her life are one son, Dennis and wife, Edna Stoebner of Aberdeen, South Dakota; one daughter, Judy and husband Darold Weisser of Armour, South Dakota; four grandchildren: David (Heidee) Stoebner, Todd (Shirlyce) Weisser, Tammy (Tim) Hein and Lynn (Leo) Gannon; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Ruben Semmler of Parkston, South Dakota; two sisters: Rose Helle of Mitchell, South Dakota and Martha Esau of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Edna in death were her husband Ruben on November 27, 2001; her parents, Fred and Christina Semmler; five brothers: Rudolph, Bernhard, Emanuel, Gottfried and Art; and three sisters: Alvina Mahoney, Amanda Semmler and Adeline Young.
Edna passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Armour, South Dakota at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 17 days.
