Elvera Friederich

Elvera Friederich, 90, formerly of Tripp, SD passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at Menno-Olivet Care Center in Menno.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 4 at First American Lutheran Church in Tripp with Pastor Barry Nelson officiating. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery, Tripp.

Pallbearers are Mike Mehlhaff, Allen Mehlhaff, Derek Mueller, Kenna Dewald, Tony Dewald and Keith Kaufman.

Mrs. Friederich was born August 12, 1935 on a family farm South of Kaylor to Herbert and Annie (Engel) Mehlhaff. She was baptized and confirmed in the Dennewitz Lutheran Church, rural Tripp.

She married Raymond E. Friederich March 8, 1955. Elvera was a housewife, part-time grocery clerk and postal clerk from 1959 to 1990. She retired as a postal clerk November 30, 1990.

Survivors include one daughter, Connie Ray Carda of Tripp; grandson, Derek; granddaughter, Stacy; great-grandchildren; sister, Neoma Kaufman; nieces, nephew and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; her father in 1960; her mother in 1976; three brothers, Richard-1980, Alvin-1990, and Howard-2007; sisters, LaVella Kaufman-2018 and Bertha Preheim-2023.
