Emma Hoff was born on Saturday, January 23, 1926 on the home farm in Hutchinson County to Henry and Lydia (Stoebner) Hoff. She attended school at Lakeside District #40 near Beardsley through the 8th grade. She was confirmed in 1940 and was a member of Friedens Reformed Church. Emma continued to live on the farm with her sister, Sophie. She loved to be outdoors and loved farming. She did everything on the farm with the exception of baling hay and combining. She loved to watch television, especially Western movies. Emma died on the family farm on which she was born and lived her entire life on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 22 days.
Emma is survived by two sisters: Sophia Hoff of rural Tripp and Lenora (Patrick) Boehmer of Parkston; a sister-in-law, Rita Hoff of Tripp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Henry and Lydia Hoff, Emma was preceded in death by five brothers: Ted, Ronnie, Albert, Otto and William.
