Ernest Austin Metz

It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest Metz announces his passing after a brief illness. Ernie was a Yankton native born on November 24, 1931 and passed away peacefully in his sleep at Sacred Heart Hospital on April 16, 2018.  Ernie was survived by his wife Helen of 63 years, sons Craig and Jeff and daughter Linda.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Lori.  He was the grandfather of seven and great grandfather of eight.
Per his wishes, Ernie will be cremated and prefers no formal service or wake but rather that we each remember him as he was in life.
