Gloria Pauline Just, age 94, went to her heavenly home April 6, 2023 at the Avera Brady Health & Rehab in Mitchell, SD.
Funeral service will be Monday, April 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Tripp.
Gloria was born on July 4, 1928 at Franklin, MN to Robert and Clara (Tretbar) Frohrip. She graduated from Franklin High School and Roger-Bennett Beauty School in Minneapolis, MN.
On October 3, 1948 she married Vern Just. They settled in Echo, MN. Seven years and 5 children later, they loaded up the 1956 Chevy station wagon and moved to Tripp, South Dakota, purchasing Tripp Feed and Chemical. Gloria worked at North Western Public Service for 4 years, then became bookkeeper at their family business, until she retired. Gloria sewed many dresses for the girls. Gloria was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 70 years. Vern and Gloria were faithful members of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Tripp and active associate members of Eternal Life Lutheran Church in Mesa, AZ. They loved singing and joined both choirs. She and Vern participated in many activities, including golfing, bowling, dancing and playing cards. They purchased a home in Apache Wells in Mesa, AZ in 1984, where they wintered for 30 years. Gloria and Vern sold their homes and moved to Sioux Falls Good Samaritan Village Hearthstone in 2015. They celebrated their 72nd anniversary in 2020. They spent a short time in Tyndall where Vern, age 100, passed away in August of 2021. Gloria recently moved to Avera Brady Assisted Living in Mitchell, SD.
Grateful for having shared her life are 4 daughters, Cleo (Bob) Lephart, Marietta, GA, Kay (Larry) Jerke, Mitchell, SD, Becky (Jim) Friman, Tripp, SD and Rachel (Bob) Heisinger, Tripp, SD; one son, Bob (Karen) Just, Tripp, SD; 13 grandchildren: Lisa (Bill) Erck, Jeff (Trista) Friman, Andy (Jen) Jerke, Angela (Steve) Bartscher, Joe Simpfenderfer, Kara (Scott) Carlson, David (Lindsey) Jerke, Jillian (Ross) Yeskel, Stacy (Jim) Fousek, Jenna (Steve) Hale, Tom (Jasmin) Heisinger, Katie Heisinger, and Hannah (Brice) Caery and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband (Vernon); an infant son, Richard; her sister, Lois and brother, Lester.
A memorial has been established by the family.
