Hazel Kaufman

Hazel Kaufman, age 98, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Tyndall Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall, South Dakota.
Hazel was born Tuesday, February 14, 1922, to James and Minnie (Wagner) Fryda, on a farm near Presho, South Dakota. She moved with her family to the Tyndall area in 1929 after graduating from Fair View Country School. She attended Tyndall High School. Hazel married Charles M. Kaufman February 14, 1941. Together they ranched until their retirement in 1989 when they moved to Yankton, South Dakota.
Memories will be cherished by her daughter Mary Ellen Cwach of Yankton; grandson, Jack and Heather Cwach; six great-grandchildren, Marissa, Jackson, Rachel, Matilyn, twins Victor and Vaughn; one sister Evelyn Coleman; sisters-in-law Doris Fryda and Angie Coulson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; son-in-law Roger Cwach; grandson Robin Cwach; parents James and Minnie Fryda Sr; brothers Lewis, Dale, Donald and James Fryda Jr.
