Helen Marie (Rembold) Baltzer was born on January 20, 1927 to Edward and Minnie (Konrad) Rembold in Kaylor, South Dakota. She attended school at Kaylor through the 10th grade. On March 3, 1945, she was united in marriage to Melvin Baltzer. Together they farmed and made their home in the Tripp area. Following Melvin’s death in 1983, Helen moved into Tripp.
Helen was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Tripp. She was the family’s “prayer warrior” and chief kuchen maker. On Monday, August 1, 2016 at Prairie Estates Care Center in Elk Point having attained the age of 89 years, Helen fell asleep in Jesus.
Helen’s memory will be cherished by her three daughters: Carol (Gary) Schaeffer of Jefferson, Diane (Mark) Wangsness of Miller, and Jean (Roger) Gemar of Papillion, NE; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Verlyn Fuerst; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Marie Fuerst, sister Viola Heckenliable, brother Walter Rembold, and one great-granddaughter.
To God Be the Glory.
