Jacqueline Nicole “Jackie” Berry was born on Wednesday, October 4, 1989 in San Bernardino, California to Chad Allen and Tamara Kay (Morris) Berry. During her childhood, she lived in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. She was a member of the Girl Scouts in Tripp for 10 years. Jackie graduated from Tripp-Delmont High School in 2008. During her time there, her activities included membership in the flag corps, the yearbook staff and T.A.T.U. - “Teens Against Tobacco Usage.” Following high school, she worked for the Good Samaritan Society of Tripp and at a convenience store. She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church where she was both baptized and confirmed. Following her injury in 2008, Jackie's determination and courage were an inspiration to all who knew her. She died on Monday, July 18, 2011, at Brunswick, Missouri at the age of 21 years, 9 months, and 14 days.
Jackie’s memory will be cherished by her father and stepmother: Chad and Debrah Berry of Tripp; her mother and stepfather: Tamara and Larry Henaman of Osage, Iowa; a sister, Amanda Berry of Osage, Iowa; two half-brothers: Ricky Hughes of Mason City, Iowa, and Caleb Berry and significant other Mandy Schmitt of Sioux Falls; a half-sister, Shina Conrad of Tyndall; three step-brothers: Aubry Peters of Lawrence, Kansas, Jack Henaman of Iowa City, Iowa and Collin Henaman of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; a step-sister, Amy Peters of Fort Collins, Colorado; paternal grandparents, Karen Albertson of Cassville, Missouri and Dallas (Donna) Berry of Owatonna, Minnesota; paternal step-grandmother, Lupe Wells of Winfield, Kansas; maternal grandparents, Jim and Peggy Morris of Sun City, California; and maternal step-grandparents, Larry (LaDonna) Henaman of Osage, Iowa.
Preceding her in death were her paternal great-grandparents, Ervin and Lela Zellmar; paternal step-grandfathers, Merle Rohde and David Albertson.
