James A. Weber
James Allan Weber was born on July 8, 1942, the first child of parents Ben and Irene (Stoebner) Weber and the big brother to siblings Dan Weber and Mary Born. Jim was a natural leader from an early age and was always organizing the neighborhood children and their creative play activities. At age six, Jim was sweeping floors at Buche’s grocery store in Delmont, South Dakota, where his dad, Ben, was the manager. In 1954 Ben and Irene purchased a grocery store in Tripp, a business that remained in the family until 2013.
In 1963 Jim married Myra Schmoll, who became his partner in life and in the family business. Jim was very involved in his community and gave generously of his time in the Jaycees Service Club, Tripp Development Corporation, Tripp Volunteer Fire Department and First American Lutheran Church Council. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his favorite pastime was visiting with and serving the people of the Tripp community through his grocery and hardware store business.
Jim and Myra have two children, Michael (Lorrie) of Groton, South Dakota, and Lisa (Kyle) Melby of Loveland, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Keith Schilling, Kyle Schilling, Samantha Bahr, Nick Weber, Megan Woolery, Allison Weber, Jayce Melby and Jaxin Melby; and six great-grandchildren Grace, Jaxon and Gwen Schilling, Jase and Beau Bahr, and Vivian Weber.
Jim passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the age of 78.

To The Jim Weber Family I am so sorry for you, Myra, and all of Yours & Jim's Family. I am sending heartfelt love and prayers to you all. So many memories are bubbling up in my mind of how the Weber Family was part of my growing up years by Tripp. With Jim and you, Myra, carrying on Jim's parents' Weber Grocery Store, what a gift to the Tripp Community for 59 years of providing continuous groceries and then hardware supplies until 2013. I always stopped in when we were back visiting with my parents, Frank & Evelyn Kvasnicka. I remember the last time I stopped in. I talked with Jim in the Weber Hardware Store. I found so many items to purchase ~ all Made in The United States. We had a very good, long chat. ?? The Community of Tripp will sadly miss Jim. Now its just memories of Jim Weber's contributions to the Tripp Community. The Tripp of my memories is just memories now of my growing up years as Tripp slowly passes into history along with us. My Dear Myra, you are so in my thoughts and prayers. May Our Father Bless you as you make your way thru your new life without Jim by your side. An adjustment we all have to face when we lose our beloved Spouses. With my Love and Prayers Elaine Kvasnicka Soukup.

Jim will be missed and my condolences to his wife and family. He was so good to my Mother bringing her groceries when she couldn't leave her home.
