Jerry John Geuther

Jerry Geuther, age 88, went to be with his family in heaven on Saturday, August 12, 2023. He died at his rural Delmont home.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 15 at First American Lutheran Church in Tripp. Interment will be in the Delmont City Cemetery.

Jerry John Geuther, son of Raymond and Anna (Frey) Geuther was born January 7, 1935 southwest of Delmont, SD on the Geuther homestead. He attended the Buhler Country School and graduated from the 8^th grade. Jerry started farming with his family at that time. Jerry only owned Allis Chalmers tractors and raised White Charolais. He sold his last herd in January of 2023.

Jerry enjoyed attending farm auctions, stock car races and riding his 4-wheeler, but more than anything, enjoyed raising White Charolais and farming.

Grateful for sharing his life are sister-in-law, Delaine Geuther of Delmont; nieces, Twila (Tim) Woehl of Wakonda, Shirley (Gordon) Dettman of Pierre, Mae Dean (Richard) Gunnare of Delmont, Julie Brenner of Delmont, Francine (Kenneth) Kocmick of St. Peter, MN, Susan (Bryan) Bietz of Gillette, WY, Julia (Kevin) Johnsen of Redfield, Collette (Ron) Briggs of Plankinton and Eva (Alan) Schroeder of Mount Vernon; nephews, DelRay Geuther of Yankton, Rodney Geuther of Wagner and Allen Geuther of Iowa. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Anna; sisters, Arles Geuther and Ileen (Wallace) Peters; brothers, Raymond Geuther Jr., Lloyd (Mildred) Geuther, Robert “Bob” (Patricia) Geuther and Sidney Geuther; niece, Linda Sparks; nephews, Raymond and Cecil Geuther and other family members.
