Service Program

All of us at the Tripp-Delmont School District are deeply saddened about the passing of LaVern Schaefer. Lavern dedicated 22 years to the Tripp-Delmont School District as a bus driver and impacted the lives of so many children he took to and from school each day.

We, the faculty, students, and staff of Tripp-Delmont School District 33-5 wish to extend our deepest sympathy and heart-felt condolences to the families, relatives, and many friends who knew and loved him. When the loss of a loved one impacts our students and their families in Tripp-Delmont and the surrounding communities, it affects us all. Our school is an important part of this community and we mourn together the loss of a great man who cared so much about his family and who was loved by so many. He will definitely be missed. May he rest in peace and may the strength and love of family help you through this difficult time.

Jeremy Hurd, Superintendent of Tripp-Delmont School District Jun 10 2022 12:31 AM

I will always fondly remember Uncle Vernie's giggles to full throttle laughter, love of sharing family stories, teasing, and competitiveness and enjoyment when we'd play Chicken Foot at family gatherings. I was truly blessed to have him in my life as my uncle. Hugs to all of the family!??

One of my favorite memories of Vern was from the auction sales. He would always say he wanted the same thing I did and then laugh. Hugs to you all.

Our sincere sympathy to Verns wife and family. He always had a couple minutes to chat and once in a while a bucket of tomatoes and an offer to help ourselves to his apples. We know how much he looked forward to time with his family. We will miss the neighborly chats.
