Maynard W. Dewald

At the age of 88, Maynard W. Dewald passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the Menno-Olivet Care Center in Menno, SD.

Maynard W. Dewald was born September 7, 1933 on a farm southwest of Tripp, SD to Edward and Linda (Lippert) Dewald. He graduated from Maxon School near Tripp.

Maynard married Adeline Mehlhaff on November 23, 1953. They farmed for 38 years southwest of Tripp. After they moved to Tripp, SD in 1992, he and Adeline both worked for 10 years in the Kaylor Locker.  

Maynard was a member of the Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp. He enjoyed his family, farm animals and dogs, seeing the countryside, figuring things out, and most things chocolate—especially ice cream. 

Maynard is survived by three children, Bruce (Sherry) of Littleton, CO, Barbara of Orange City, IA and Brian (Londa) of Lisle, IL; four grandchildren, Paul (Lindsay), Melinda (Matthew) Gindin, Elizabeth and Zachary; great-granddaughter, Daphne Gindin and his sister, Elaine Mehlhaff of Bridgman, MI.

He was preceded in death by Adeline, his wife of over 67 years, and by his parents.
