Mildred Lorraine Guericke

Mildred Lorraine Guericke was born April 12, 1927 to Phillip and Anna Marie (Bietz) Konrad at Tripp, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Scotland, SD. Mildred attended Kaylor School District #12 through the eighth grade. At that time Mildred went to work full time on the family farm with her parents, four brothers and two sisters. Just like at every farm home, Mildred also did household chores.
Mildred married Ruben Guericke January 17, 1947 at St Paul Lutheran Church in Scotland, SD. They raised two children, Roger and Patricia. Mildred worked with her husband Ruben at the Kaylor Furniture Store. Mildred also worked for 14 years at the Kaylor Locker.
Mildred Guericke, age 93, of Springfield and formerly of Kaylor, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at the Menno-Olivet Care Center.
Mildred is survived by son Roger (Le Hong) Guericke of Las Cruces, New Mexico; daughter Patricia (Virgil) Munkvold of Viborg; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings Esther Kramer, Alice Suess, Melvin Konrad and Kenneth Konrad.
She was preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Anna Marie; husband Ruben in 1992; brothers Elmer and Clifford; 4 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; and 3 nephews.
