Nedward “Ned” Lee Brunick

September 5, 1951 — February 11, 2019

Nedward “Ned” Lee Brunick, aged 67, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at his home in Yankton, SD. Ned was born in Yankton on May 9, 1951 to Lloyd Sr. & Reva (Koster) Brunick and was the third of five children. He graduated from Yankton High School in 1969 and from the University of South Dakota - Springfield in 1973 with a major in Secondary Education. He married Dana Lynne (Taylor) Brunick in 1973 and taught high school woodworking in Lake Andes, IA. They later moved to Meridian, MS where he worked as a millwright. They moved to Maquoketa, IA in 1977 where he worked for Caterpiller, Inc. in Davenport, IA. In 1985, they came back home to Yankton where Ned worked for Northern Extrusion Tooling, Inc. until he retired due to health reasons in 2007.
Ned enjoyed working with stained glass and created many beautiful pieces for friends and family. He was also an avid woodworker and leather-craftsman and enjoyed spending time in his shop and garage. In his later years, he enjoyed feeding the Charlies (birds and squirrels) with his many grandchildren by his side.
Ned’s memory is cherished by his wife, Dana, of 45 years; son, Justin (Jennifer) Brunick, Yankton; daughter, Kara Sejnoha, Granger, IA; son, Andrew (Missy) Brunick, Yankton; grandchildren: Marissa, Grace, Samuel, Makenzie, Logan, and Alexis; siblings, Ken Brunick, Yankton; Lloyd Jr. (Julie) Brunick, Yankton; Dennis Brunick, Sioux Falls; and Dolly (Dom) Russo, Yankton. Ned is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Sr. and Reva Brunick of Yankton.
