Patricia Joan Brosz

Patricia Joan "Pat" Brosz, 71, passed away from cancer on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Aurora South Hospital in Aurora, Colorado while in hospice care. Her cremains will be interred 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Friedens Reformed Church Cemetery, in her hometown, Tripp, South Dakota.

Pat was born April 23, 1950 at St. Benedict's Hospital in Parkston, SD, to Raymond and Melitha (Stoebner) Brosz. She was baptized on May 28, 1950 at Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp and confirmed there too. She attended elementary school at Sharon School District No. 10 east of Tripp and graduated from Tripp High School in 1968. She earned an associate of arts degree from the Community College of Aurora, Aurora, CO.   

Pat worked several years in the service industry in South Dakota before moving to Colorado in 1973, where she had careers in industrial assembly and medical records processing and was employed in the gaming industry at the time of her passing. Pat was an avid reader and jigsaw puzzle solver. She loved nature walks and short trips to appreciate Colorado’s Rocky Mountain beauty.

Pat is survived by a brother, Allyn (Jill) Brosz, Washington, DC; sisters, Janice Brosz, Sioux Falls, SD and Kathleen (Dr. Mark) Werning, Parkston, SD; nephews, Blake (Lisa) Werning, Norfolk, NE, Bret (Jayme) Werning, Ace and Avner, Hartford, SD and Marcus Werning, Spirit Lake, IA; niece, Kara (Jess) Herman, Glendale, AZ; long-time special friends, Jane Ann Schimmel, Aurora, CO, Leeanna Schimmel (Bob Ruiz), Aiden and Kiera Ruiz-Schimmel; aunt, Elva Brosz and several cousins.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Melitha (Stoebner) Brosz and her grandparents, Ferdinand and Lydia (Bietz) Brosz and Andrew J. and Maria (Guthmiller) Stoebner.
