Patrick ‘Pat’ Lee Bauder passed away on June 24th, 2024 at the age of 51 years.

A joint visitation with his son, Jackson, will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Thursday, June 27 at Goglin Funeral Home in Yankton.

Their funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28 in the Scotland High School gymnasium.

Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery.

Pat lived his entire life on the family farm near Lesterville, South Dakota. He was born on October 3, 1972 in Freeman, South Dakota to Gary Lee Bauder and Janet Ruth (McCord) Bauder.

Pat graduated from Scotland High School in 1991. After graduating high school, he chose to continue farming with his dad on the family farm, and after his dad’s passing with his nephew James and his son Jackson. He enjoyed driving for Scotland Redi-Mix in his free time. On September 26th, 1998, Pat was united in marriage to Cheryl Leader, together they were blessed with three children: Ashley (24), Brittney (23), and Jackson (11).

Pat enjoyed dinkin’ around in his shop, playing in the dirt and taking on the challenge of building, fixing, or modifying anything he set his mind to. He was always taking things apart to see how they work, not always getting them back together. He loved brain games, roading tripping for new farm equipment, telling stories, talking on the phone, and watching TV shows or movies together with his family. Pat had many passions but his greatest were farming, his children, and helping others.

He was a dedicated member and leader of Lesterville Fire & Rescue since January 2, 2006. During his 18 years with the department, he served 3 years as 2nd assistant chief. He spent many hours maintaining the fire hall, helping with fundraisers, as well as building fire trucks. He also was a member of the Lesterville Community Club, the Lesterville Benefit Pickup and Tractor Pull committee, and the Spirit of Hope Church in Scotland, SD. He was a quick thinker and someone people would call when they needed help doing something. He would drop everything he was doing at the time to go help, because “that’s what neighbors do.”

Pat is survived by his daughters, Ashley Bauder and Brittney Bauder; mother, Janet Bauder; sister, Michelle (Tom) Hlavac; nephew, James Hlavac, and niece, Kristina Hlavac.

Pat, with his son Jackson by his side, entered God’s kingdom joining his father, Gary Lee Bauder.
