Pauline A. (Bauder) Finck was born November 13, 1941 in Yankton, SD to John E. and Hilda (Brandt) Bauder. Pauline passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 20, 2024 at Tyndall Good Samaritan Center.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp. Funeral service begins 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24 at Friedens Reformed. Interment will be in Friedens Reformed Cemetery.
Pauline attended country school and graduated from Scotland High School in 1960. She married Leroy P. Finck on August 27, 1961 at American Lutheran Church in Scotland.
Pauline resided on the farm up until 2021 when her health declined. Pauline was a farm wife, raising her 3 children, chickens, milking cows and had a garden. She did a lot of canning throughout the years. She also enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to make her German heritage foods.
She liked to collect cookbooks and read them. She also put together two cookbooks and published them. She had a lot of knowledge on family history and liked to reminisce. She and Leroy liked to go to polka dances. She was very active in the Immanual Reformed and Frieden’s Reformed Church ladies guild.
Grateful for sharing Pauline’s life are her daughter, Charlotte (John) Cihak of Tyndall; sons, Cornelius (Jean) Finck of Tripp and Conrad Finck of Scotland; grandchildren, Bradley (Jessica) Cihak of Aberdeen and Brittany (Steve) Erickson of Irene; great-grandsons, Jackson and Blake Cihak of Aberdeen; 4 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Marvin (Diane) Bauder of Tyndall; brother-in-law, Melvin (Shirley) Finck of Tripp and sister-in-law, Janet (Daune) Weisser of Mitchell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Leroy; brother and sister-in-law, Duane (Sheri) Bauder; her parents and in-laws.
