Phillip Charles Running

Phillip Charles Running, 34, of Parkston, SD died April 30, 2021 at his home in Parkston.
He was born April 10, 1987 to Philomene Running and Lonnie Running Bear Sr. At age 9 he was a foster child with the family of Del and Sue Neumeister, never adopted but a family member the rest of his life. He attended various schools throughout South Dakota. He graduated in 2005 from Scotland High School. He attended one semester at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell. He served his country by being in the Marines. While in high school he participated in football, basketball, cross country and wrestling. He was a very good artist and started doing tattoos.
Family was very important to Phillip. He loved his sons and all his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his two sons, Connor and Aiden; father and mother, Del and Sue Neumeister of Tripp, SD; siblings, Cassie (Ben) Pritchard of Hartly, DE, Kevin (Nicole) Neumeister of Tripp, SD, Harlita Running of Rosebud, Bennett Running of Billings, MT, Tracy Shot With Two Arrows of SD, Leah Running Bear of Mission, SD, Ashley Running Bear of ST. Francis, SD, Britney Running Bear of Rosebud, SD, Tawnzi LaPoint of SD, Chanz Witt of SD, Althea LaPoint of SD, William Running of SD, Lonnie Running Bear Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD and Joseph Running of SD; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Philomene Running; father Lonnie Running Bear Sr.; brother Alvin Running and grandparents.
Phillip's Lakota People will be holding a service and burial on the Rosebud Reservation at a later date.
