Ranata Ann Radcliffe, 61 of Scotland, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at St. Michael's Hospital in Tyndall.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 10 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tyndall. Visitation begins at noon.
Ranata Ann Radcliffe, 61 of Scotland, SD passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall.
Ranaye was born November 16, 1964 to Gloria and Larry Uken at St. Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall.
She attended school in Avon, SD and graduated in 1983. Ranata and her daughter, Ashley moved to Mitchell. She graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1987.
For a short time after college Ranaye and Ashley moved to Panama City, Florida.
In 1990 Ranaye and Ashley returned to South Dakota where they made their home in Scotland. Ranaye married John Radcliffe on July 7, 2001. She worked as a Head Start teacher for 35 years. Ranaye liked puzzles, movies, mystery books, throwing darts and spending time with family.
Grateful for sharing her life are her husband, John; her children, Ashley Uken, Anthony and Zachary Radcliffe; three grandchildren, Serena of Sioux Falls and Chloe and Syler of Scotland; her brother, Adam Uken of Yankton; her mother and step-father, Gloria and Ernest Merkwan of Tabor and her mother-in-law, Barb Elliott of Scotland.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Adam and Mable Simek; her aunt, Cindy Peterson; her cousin, Matt Bierwagen and her father-in-law, Bill Elliott.
May she lay in God’s loving arms until we meet again.
