Robert Dale Johnson

Robert Dale Johnson, age 69 of Mission Hill, SD, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. No services are planned at this time.

Bob was born Monday, December 29, 1952 to Dale A. and Elaine (Hruska) Johnson in Yankton. He was a graduate of Yankton High School, where he played football for the Bucks. He attended Yankton College, then completed his post high school education at USD in Vermillion.

Bob married Suzan Brown, March 27, 1992. They had a loving relationship for 36 years. Bob worked at the State Hospital as a mental health tech. He also owned and operated the Kitchen Table Café in Yankton. He enjoyed raising fox and mink. Bob served on the Mission Hill City Council.

Bob loved cooking big meals for the family. He made sure he always had on hand, a family favorite, Monster Cookies. In his free time, Bob enjoyed fishing and could be found quite frequently at his computer. His dog, Buddy, was his constant companion.

Bob is survived by his ex-wife, Suzan Johnson of Mission Hill; son, Jeremy Johnson of Sioux Falls; daughters, Lisa Christensen of Yankton and Aleasa Crary of Beloit, WI and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents.
