Rudy Lee Breneman, 77, of Marion, SD passed away in Sioux Falls, SD on December 4, 2023, after a brief illness.
The family invites all to Rudy’s Celebration of Life at the American Legion in Marion, SD on Sunday, December 17, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with military honors at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the Spencer Cemetery, Spencer, SD, at a later date.
The son of Merle and Carol (Barnhouse) Breneman grew up in Spencer, SD. He was born December 8, 1945, and attended school in Salem. After school Rudy proudly served as a Marine, completing a tour in Vietnam. He traveled the roads for Bultsma Trucking of Platte, SD, after many miles with Wolf’s Trucking of Salem, SD. After two million safe miles, he has parked his truck now, the engine has stopped, those that loved him, their hearts have dropped. He traveled the country with a smile of pride, now he drives the streets of heaven, it was this trucker’s last ride. Rudy was known for his story telling, enjoyed attending auctions and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy.
Rudy is survived by his love and life partner, Charlotte Diesburg; two sons, Tony and Royce; grandchildren, Jade, Mara, Maddie, Joseph, Misty Rose, Chelsea, Preston and Adain and great-grandchildren, Isabella and Amia. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lanny; a daughter, Shannon, and two sisters, Alberta Townsend and Bonita Bies.
