Stephanie Marie (Keppen) Washburn passed away unexpectedly at her home in Gayville, SD at the age of 25 years. Stephanie was born on February 29, 1992 to Pam and Ray Keppen in Yankton, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Scotland.  Stephanie grew up on the farm near Scotland, SD. She attended school in Scotland and graduated in 2010. Stephanie was involved in show choir, she had a beautiful voice. She grew up attending and participating in many sports. In the summers she enjoyed to play softball.
Stephanie married the man of her dreams, Cody James Washburn, on September 7, 2012. In their time together, though it was too short, they built a beautiful family. Together they had two sons, Eli James, 2 years and Ethan James, 5 months. Stephanie’s boys were her pride and joy. She was a wonderful mother and wife.
Stephanie’s career was as a CNA at various nursing homes.  She was a compassionate and nurturing person who loved taking care of others. She was most recently employed at the Human Services Center in Yankton, SD.
Grateful for sharing her life are her loving husband, Cody and her two precious sons Eli and Ethan, her parents Pam and Ray Keppen, brothers Joe (Monica) Keppen, Rob (Amy) Keppen, and sister Kristina (Mike) Starr, her maternal grandmother Shirley McNary, nieces Myah, Tenley,& Abi, and nephews Kory, Riley, & Brandon, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. On Cody’s side: father Larry (Renee) Washburn, mother Connie (Virgil) Pravecek, sisters Amanda (Russel) Bisson, Brenda (Richard) Bradley, stepsisters Alysia (Roger) Wilson, Victoria (Dennis) Rager , Lela (Brandon) Garrison, half-sister Teresa Washburn, paternal grandmother Norma Washburn, and 14 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a fund being established for the benefit of Stephanie’s two young sons at: PO Box 634, Gayville, SD 57031.
