Steven Paul Fideler

Steven Fideler, age 68 of Tripp, died Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Bormann Manor in Parkston.

A visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Goglin Funeral Chapel in Tripp.

Steve's celebration of life will be held at the Dug Out in Tripp, following visitation.

Steven Paul Fideler was born May 1, 1955 to Wilbur “Sonny” and Ione Fideler. He was raised on a farm near Delmont SD, attended Law Country School, and then later Delmont # 9 Country School. He graduated from Delmont High School.

His musical talent landed him in “Jan’s Band” and the “Dakota Band Wagon.” Steve enjoyed polka music, trucking and going to the dump. His favorite day of the year was Memorial Day as he looked forward to playing in the Delmont community band. He was very proud of his birthday, May Day 1955. 

He was united in marriage to Mary Schmidt on May 26, 1978. He died at Avera Bormann Manor May 24, 2023. 

Steve is survived by his wife, Mary of Tripp, South Dakota; 4 children, Christopher (Sarah) Fideler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Casey (Stephani) Fideler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sarah Fideler (Wes Stofferan) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Steven Jr Fideler of Tea, South Dakota; six grandchildren, Graham, Estelle, Amelia, Hayes, Corbin and Kennedy Fideler; six siblings, Sue (Nick) Ernster of Emery, South Dakota, Kenneth Fideler of Volga, South Dakota, Sally (Kerry) Harrington of Delmont, South Dakota, Becky (Bob) Jacobsen Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kathy (Ron) Bartunek of Armour, South Dakota and Lyle (Deyna) Fideler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

 He was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandparents.
