Violet Jenner, 87, of Scotland, SD, peacefully passed away at the Good Samaritan Home in Tyndall, SD on April 10, 2024. Funeral services will be held at Zion Reformed Lutheran Church in Menno, SD on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., preceded by visitation one hour prior to the service.
Born to Edwin and Ella (Koerner) Jenner on October 14, 1936, Violet was baptized at Bethany Reformed Church in Scotland. She was confirmed on May 20, 1951, by Rev. Korn at Zion Reformed Church of Menno, where she remained a devoted member throughout her life.
Violet received her education at Odessa Country School southeast of Scotland and later assisted her parents on their family farm. Following her father’s passing, Violet dedicated herself to caring for her grandmother Jenner and her mother. She remained living on the family farm until health issues forced her to move.
Throughout her life, Violet demonstrated compassion, particularly towards her beloved animals, especially her dog, Buffy. Holidays were special to Violet, and she enjoyed buying gifts for the children of neighbors and making rosettes for friends in the community. She enjoyed polka and fiddle music and maintained a garden each year. She took special pride in growing cabbages “much better than any you could find in a store.” Though she valued her privacy, her love for the Lord, her family, and her friends was profound.
Violet is survived by her relatives, friends, and neighbors, who will cherish her memory dearly.
